If you want to make the biggestpossible bubble, there are several things to keep in mind. First, the biggestbubbles form in humid surroundings. So try to avoid the dry air of winter.
If, however, you're stuck with cold weather, you may wantto move your bubble-making operation to the humid surroundings of a bathroom(with the shower turned on).
Also, direct sunlight is bad for bubbles. Try making themin the shade. And, of course, you'll need a special bubble maker such as theone described below.
□ cotton rope
□ a pair ofscissors
□ a largeplastic cup or container
Make a bubble solution from one part dishwashing liquid andnine parts water. Pour this solution into a large plastic cup or container.
Cut a length of cotton rope about 3 feet (0.9 m) long. Knotthe free ends of the rope to form a large loop.
Immerse the loop into the bubble solution. Keep it in thesolution for several minutes so that the entire rope becomes saturated with theliquid.
Remove the rope from the solution. Because it is saturated, it will sag. Position your hands on opposite sides of this closed loop. Gentlyand steadily spread the
loop apart. The bubble film should span the opening.
Slowly walk with the loop extended. The passing air willenter the loop and inflate the bubble. When the bubble has grown to a largeenough size, close the loop so that the bubble gets pinched off.
Check It Out! Try creating a giant bubble-making loop from alength of rope that's at least 6 feet (1.8 m) long.
Forthis bubble maker, you'll need to use a large container filled with bubblesolution, and a friend to help work the loop.
